Product Classification
In order to export products or goods, you need to obtain the products Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) and HTS code. The Importer/Exporter is responsible for the correct classification on their documents.
The ECCN is needed for Export Control reasons and the HTS for Custom and Free Trade reasons.
ECCN A key in determining whether an export license is knowing whether the item you are intending to export has a specific Export Control Classification Number (ECCN). The ECCN is an alpha-numeric code, e.g., 4A003 that describes a particular item or type of item.
